Hi! I’m Jen.
I’m the Founder and Editor of the Curious Cat IP Blog, which launched in 2023.
I am an intellectual property attorney at Greer, Burns & Crain Ltd. in Chicago, where I’ve lived since 2010. I primarily practice anti-counterfeiting litigation and patent prosecution. For several years, I was a contracted Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Examiner for the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Before entering the legal field, I worked in the fields of Chemical Waste Disposal & Environmental Sciences.
I’m registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a Patent Attorney, and I’m admitted to practice law in Illinois. I’m a member of the bars of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
I studied law at the Chicago-Kent College of Law (IIT). As a law student, I was a member of Chicago-Kent Law Review and competed in the Saul Lefkowitz (Trademark) Moot Court. In my final year of law school, I was awarded the Dolores K. Hanna Trademark Award. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where I also studied English.

Please meet our staff
The heart and soul of this company, Miss Kitty’s leadership, grit, and dedication has taken the Curious Cat IP Blog to unforeseen levels. She is also the record-holder for most consecutive Employee of the Month wins (37!).
Miss Kitty, Director of Operations
Atlas, Assistant to the Manager
Atlas is just trying his best, but like most orange cats, this doesn’t amount to much. His unhinged obsession with bananas severely affects his work performance.
Darko, Intern
Darko is struggling mightily to adapt to the feline-dominant work culture of the Curious Cat IP Blog. Nonetheless, he is a very good boy.
